Program
Valuing technology is a critical issue for companies, whether making investment decisons, raising capital, entering into licensing agreements or disposing of assets. Too often, valuation is poorly understood, which may result in less than optimun deals being transacted because companies are presented with take-it-or-leave-it propositions. Agreeing a fair valuation is a negotiated process, which requires company management to have a sound grasp of the concepts involved.

Ths MasterClass will provide a non-mathematical overview of valuation concepts applicable to biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device companies:

Fundamentals: Net Present Value, Discounted Cash Flow, Capital Asset Pricing Model
Valuation under Uncertainty: Expected NPV, Monte Carlo Simulation, Real Options
Investor Expectations: Business Angels, Corporate Partners, Venture Capitalists
Participants in the MasterClass will work in teams to derive a valuation in a simulated case. The day concludes with a video of a VC and Corporate Finance adviser negotiating the value.
