Licensing has emerged as a cornerstone for the commercialisation of life science technology, from university to spin-out, from SME to big pharma, and for pharmaceutical companies seeking to enhance their development portfolio. Understanding the basis of valuing a license is an essential prerequisite to reaching a commercial licensing agreement.
This MasterClass provides an opportunity to refresh your understanding of license valuation, and to learn new approaches to dealing with future uncertainty.
The MasterClass will provide a non-mathematical overview of valuation concepts applicable to biotechnology and pharmaceutical licenses -it is based on the use of Excel models and introduces @Risk simulation software. |

As Director of International Technology Licensing for OxyChem, Michael Brand has successfully negotiated many mult-million $ licensing and joint venture agreements. He gained venture capital experience at 3i Corporation, Boston, where he headed the international technology transfer program. As a co-founder of Captum Capital he has assisted early stage life science companies with business development and fund raising. Michael holds a PhD from Imperial College, an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management and the Investment Management Certificate of the CFA Society of the UK; he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.. |

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received prior to two weeks before the MasterClass will be issued a refund, less a 25% administration fee. No refunds will be made for later cancellations; the Registered delegate will be liable for the full Registration Fee. In the event you are unable to attend, we would encourage you to send a substitute rather than cancel your registration. |
